Security Infrastructure

HWBIDCo has invested in new digital security radio infrastructure.

The ability for businesses to communications with CCTV and each other is a major advantage in dealing effectively with offenders.  Digital radios provide the advantage of a reliable multi-channel signal, voice recording and strong performance management in terms of programming and business support.

This new system is built on a modular basis allowing us to connect areas outside of the BID Area, in order to strengthen the partnership and to allow HWBIDCo to generate additional revenue that can be invested back into security projects.

The first additional area to join the scheme will be Marlow town centre.

HWBIDCo shares the management of this system with Wycombe District Council CCTV.  Monitoring stations will be situated in both the Wycombe District Council CCTV control room and at the offices of HWBIDCo in Little Market House.  HWBIDCo will take-on the maintenance liability of handsets that includes battery changes, when appropriate.

The system went live in Autumn 2013, with handsets being distributed to those active members of the business security partnership.  New members within the BID Area will need to contribute the purchase price of a new handset prior to joining the scheme.  Areas  outside of the BID Area, such as Marlow pay an annual subscription fee that will allow them access to meetings, intelligence-sharing and a radio handset (should they require one).

All handsets to existing active scheme members will be distributed on the understanding that recipients will first attend radio-refresher training.

Linked to the radio scheme is a secure, encrypted, intelligence-sharing network delivered through this website that highlights banned individuals and those who are of interest to the partnership because of their actions.

HWBIDCo is registered with the Information Commissioner (ICO) for these purposes.
